Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about qw0. Can't find what you're looking for? Reach out to us on Discord.

Getting Started

qw0 is a cloud-based file hosting and sharing platform. You can upload any file — images, videos, documents, audio — and instantly share it with anyone using a short, unique URL. We focus on speed, reliability, and giving users full control over who can see their content. Whether you're a developer who wants to automate uploads via ShareX, a photographer sharing work with clients, or someone who just needs a quick way to send a large file, qw0 is built for you.

Click the Get Started button at the top of any page. You'll be asked for a name, email address, and password. After submitting the form you'll receive a verification email — click the link inside to activate your account. The whole process takes under a minute, and no credit card is required.

Yes. qw0 supports logging in with Discord, which lets you skip the email/password form entirely. Simply click the Discord login option on the registration or login page and authorise the connection. Your account will be linked to your Discord identity.

No. If a file is set to public by its owner, anyone with the link can view or download it without logging in. Only private files require authentication — and even then, only the file's owner can access them.

Plans & Pricing

Yes. qw0 offers a free plan that includes a storage quota and file hosting with no time limit on your account. Paid plans exist for users who need more storage, higher per-file upload limits, longer file retention, or advanced features like Smart Search. You can compare all available plans on the pricing section of the home page.

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) as well as various local payment methods depending on your country. Your payment details are never stored on our servers.

Yes. You can cancel your paid subscription at any time from the billing portal in your account settings. After cancellation, your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period. You will then automatically revert to the free plan and your files will be retained according to the free plan's policy.

Yes. All paid plans offer a discounted yearly rate compared to the equivalent monthly cost. You can see both the monthly and yearly pricing for each plan on our pricing page. Switching to yearly billing is a great way to save while keeping all the premium features.

File Management

qw0 supports a wide variety of file types including images (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, SVG, BMP), videos (MP4, WebM, MOV, AVI), audio files (MP3, OGG, WAV, FLAC), documents (PDF, TXT, CSV), archives (ZIP, RAR, 7Z), and many more. Files are served with the correct content type so that browsers can render or play supported formats inline without requiring a download.

The maximum file size per upload depends on your plan. Free plan users can upload files up to a set size limit, while paid plans offer significantly higher per-file limits. You can see the exact upload size for each plan on the pricing section.

File retention depends on your plan. Some plans retain files indefinitely regardless of activity. Others may remove files that have not been viewed after a configured number of days (the "inactive files" policy). This is different from account deletion — your account and all files associated with it remain active as long as your account is open. Upgrading your plan can give you longer or unlimited retention.

Yes. qw0 supports albums that let you group related files together. You can browse all your files in the main file manager, create named albums for better organisation, and use Smart Search (on eligible plans) to find files by their content rather than just their filename.

Smart Search is a powerful feature available on select plans that uses Google Cloud Vision to analyse the content of your images and automatically tag them. This means you can search your file library for keywords like "car", "invoice", "cat", or even text appearing within an image — without manually naming or tagging each file. Each plan specifies a daily quota of Smart Search scans.

Privacy & Security

You are in full control. Every file you upload can be individually marked as public or private. Public files are accessible to anyone who has the link — no account required. Private files are completely hidden from all other users; even someone who guesses the direct URL will not be able to view a private file.

Yes. Uploaded files are scanned with ClamAV, an industry-standard open-source antivirus engine. If a file is detected as potentially dangerous, it will not be served to visitors and a warning page will be shown instead. This protects both you and anyone you share files with.

Yes. qw0 supports two-factor authentication (2FA) to add an extra layer of security to your account. You can enable 2FA in your account security settings. Additionally, passkey authentication is supported for a passwordless login experience on compatible devices.

You can permanently delete your account and all associated files from the account settings page. This action is irreversible — once your account is deleted, all your files and personal data are removed from our servers. If you want to keep a copy of your files before deleting, you can use the data export feature first.

Yes. qw0 provides a data export tool in your account settings. You can request an export of all your uploaded files and account data. Once the export is ready, you will receive a notification and can download a compressed archive containing everything.

Technical & Integrations

qw0 has native ShareX support. Once logged in, navigate to Settings → Download ShareX Config. This will download a pre-configured .sxcu file. Double-click the file to import it into ShareX, and you're done. From that point on, every screenshot, screen recording, or file captured by ShareX will be automatically uploaded to qw0 and the link will be copied to your clipboard.

Yes. qw0 provides a REST API that lets you upload files, manage your library, and perform other account operations programmatically. Authentication uses a Bearer token that you can generate in your account settings. The API is suitable for integrating qw0 into your own tools, scripts, or automation workflows.

Yes. qw0 supports custom subdomains and personal domains. You can configure your preferred domain in the Settings → Domains section. This lets you share files under your own branded URL rather than the default qw0 domain, giving your links a more professional appearance.

Notepads are text documents you can create and store in your qw0 account. You can write notes, code snippets, or any plain text and then share them via a public link — similar to how you share a file. Viewers can read the notepad in the browser or download the raw text. It's a simple alternative to pastebin services, built right into your account.

As long as your account is active and the file has not been deleted or expired (based on your plan's retention policy), the link to a file remains permanently valid. File URLs are based on a short random code and do not change over time. If you delete a file, its link will stop working immediately.
